ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Nestled within the quiet charm of the historic Asmangadh Palace, stands St. Joseph’s School, Malakpet, a proud member of the renowned St. Joseph’s group of institutions. Its story is one of vision, perseverance, and steady growth — an inspiring journey that began with a dream to bring quality education within reach of every child in Hyderabad.
Foundations Built on Vision
The St. Joseph’s Education Society traces its roots to the early 1970s, when the late Shri U. G. Reddy, an educationist with a far-seeing mind and a compassionate heart, founded the first of many Josephian institutions in the city. His aim was to nurture young minds with knowledge, discipline, and values that would shape them into responsible citizens. Over the decades, his vision blossomed into a chain of reputed schools, each carrying forward the same ideals of academic excellence and moral strength.
The Malakpet Chapter
The Malakpet branch, established in June 2000, was a natural extension of that legacy. Beginning with modest infrastructure and a handful of teachers, the school has grown steadily with a strong focus on creating a joyful and meaningful learning environment. Affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, the school follows the ICSE curriculum and is well known for its balanced and holistic approach to education.
Infrastructure that Supports Learning
Year after year, the school has grown in strength and stature. Spacious classrooms across five blocks, well-equipped laboratories, a vast library, and expansive playgrounds create a vibrant atmosphere for learning and growth.
Ethos of All-Round Development
What sets the school apart is the Josephian spirit — the perfect blend of discipline and warmth, tradition and modernity. Academics, co-curricular activities, and sports form the three strong pillars of the institution, ensuring the all-round development of every student.
Leadership Beyond the Campus
Sri U. G. Reddy founded the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) in 1997. He served as Secretary and Treasurer for fifteen years, providing ICSE schools in the region with platforms for sports and literary activities. The CISCE Regional Office at Habsiguda stands as a testimony to his vision and commitment.
The People Behind the Legacy
The school is guided by Mrs. U. A. Sundari, Principal, and Mr. U. Alexander Reddy, Secretary. Mrs. Sundari also serves as Secretary and Treasurer of ASISC, AP & Telangana Region, contributing significantly to the educational community.
Upholding the Spirit
The school’s true pride lies in its distinguished alumni — doctors, engineers, pilots, athletes, civil servants, chartered accountants, entrepreneurs, and cine artists — who continue to make their alma mater proud across the globe, carrying with them the values and confidence instilled at St. Joseph’s.
What began as a humble dream twenty-five years ago has today grown into a flourishing centre of learning — a lasting tribute to the founder’s vision and to every educator who has carried this legacy forward.
