St. Joseph's Public School, a majestic palace turned into a
centre of learning, stands as a beacon of memories for me.
Its light shade of yellow walls, imbued with history and grandeur, brings a
sense of awe to anyone who beholds it. The playground, vast and inviting,
was the site of countless hours of joy and camaraderie. I vividly recall the
anticipation for the lab and sports periods. These were the moments that
punctuated our academic routine with bursts of discovery and joy.
As I look back on my time, my heart fills with gratitude. It's important to
acknowledge that I was often the mischievous student, frequently arriving
without my homework. Yet, it was the kindness and positive encouragement
from my teachers that truly shaped me. They focused on nurturing the good in
me, rather than reprimanding me for my shortcomings.
I distinctly remember an incident where my habitual lack of homework led me
to the Principal, Sundari Ma'am's room. What could have been a daunting
experience turned into a moment of understanding and laughter. Ma'am sat
with me, listened to my stories, chuckled at my jokes, and gently sent me on
my way. It was moments like these that exemplified the school's approach -
one based on trust and understanding rather than stern discipline.
At St. Joseph's, the emphasis was not just on academic rigour, but also on
recognizing and nurturing each student's unique strengths. Being appointed
as the Head Girl and Prime Minister of the school cabinet was a turning
point, where I began to understand my aptitude for leadership.
The nurturing and guidance I received from my teachers were unparalleled. I
fondly remember Sundari Ma'am, Elizabeth Ma'am, Aruna Ma'am, Angelina Ma'am,
Jayshree Ma'am, Anupama Ma'am, Bharati Ma'am, Arundhati Ma'am, Vanita Ma'am,
and Vani Ma'am, among many others.
To the current students of St. Joseph's, I urge you to appreciate the unique
environment you are in. The nurturing you receive here is rare and will play
a critical role in your future.
